Why These Developments Matter
India’s long-term energy planning includes expanding nuclear power generation as part of a broader low-carbon energy mix. The Government of India has also outlined a target of increasing nuclear power capacity in the coming decades, creating demand for specialised skills, research infrastructure, and industry-ready professionals.
Against this backdrop, initiatives such as CODENE, NTOP, and collaborative research projects seek to expand opportunities for technical training and academic engagement in nuclear engineering and related disciplines.
