Vacancy Details
As stated in Advertisement No. A-1/E-1/2026, the recruitment currently includes approximately 500 vacancies. The Commission has also indicated that requisitions for additional posts have been received from state departments. Therefore, the final number of vacancies may change before the recruitment cycle concludes if revised through subsequent official notifications.

Application Process
Candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) before submitting the online application. According to UPPSC, activation of the OTR number may take up to 72 hours. Completing this step early can help avoid delays near the application deadline.

Both papers are objective-type. A penalty of one-third mark is applicable for each incorrect answer.
Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination will appear for the Main Examination, which consists of eight descriptive papers carrying 1,500 marks. Those shortlisted in the Main Examination will be called for a 100-mark Personality Test, after which the final merit list will be prepared.
Salary and Career Progression
Under the state government’s applicable pay matrix, entry-level officers appointed through the PCS examination are generally placed in Pay Level 10, with a basic pay of ₹56,100. Based on the prevailing pay structure and admissible allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA), the estimated monthly in-hand salary is reported to range between ₹95,000 and ₹1.10 lakh, depending on the place of posting and other service conditions.
Officers become eligible for higher administrative responsibilities and revised pay levels through promotions governed by the state’s service rules.
