The Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, has announced the results of the second computerised draw of lots for entry-level admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG) and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories for the 2026–27 academic session.
The second draw was conducted on July 10, 2026, at the DoE Conference Hall, Old Secretariat, Delhi, to fill vacant seats in private unaided recognised schools under Delhi’s implementation of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009. Candidates allotted seats must complete document verification before admission is confirmed.
The admission process is intended to provide eligible children from economically weaker and disadvantaged backgrounds with access to reserved seats in recognised private schools through a transparent computerised allotment system.

Result Checking and Verification
Applicants can view their allotment through the official admission portal using their registration details. The Directorate has also published a merit list PDF, and selected candidates may receive allotment information through SMS on their registered mobile numbers.

- Birth certificate
- Valid residence proof
- Income certificate (annual family income below ₹1 lakh) or valid BPL/AAY ration card for EWS applicants
- Caste certificate, where applicable, for DG applicants
- Government-issued disability certificate for CWSN applicants
- Any additional documents specified by the Directorate
Admissions may be cancelled if documents are forged or do not match the information submitted during online registration.
Policy and Legal Context
The EWS, DG and CWSN admission framework is part of Delhi’s implementation of the RTE Act, which reserves seats for eligible children in recognised private schools. The computerised draw is intended to ensure a transparent and equitable allocation process.
Separately, the Delhi High Court, in a decision delivered in January 2026, observed that the neighbourhood criterion should not be applied rigidly in a manner that defeats the objectives of EWS and DG admissions. Parents should, however, follow the admission process and eligibility conditions notified by the Directorate for the current session, as official admission guidelines remain the governing framework.
If vacancies remain after the ongoing verification process, the Directorate may conduct another computerised draw. As of July 11, 2026, no official notification confirming a third draw has been issued.

Government authorities do not charge any fee for allotment under the EWS, DG or CWSN admission process.
