The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the NEET UG 2026 re-examination result soon, marking the start of the admission process for undergraduate medical courses across India. NEET UG is the national entrance examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other approved undergraduate medical programmes offered by government, private, deemed and central institutions. Following the declaration of results, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), while state counselling authorities will manage admissions under their respective State Quota systems.
The 2026 admission cycle continues under the regulatory framework of the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the counselling procedures prescribed by the MCC and individual states. NEET UG 2026 Result Timeline
The NTA is expected to declare the NEET UG 2026 re-examination result on or before 20 July 2026. As of the last update, the authority has not issued a final public notice confirming the result date. The final answer key and scanned OMR response sheets are also expected to be released around the same time.

Candidates will be able to download their scorecards using their application number, password or date of birth, and the security PIN. The scorecard is expected to include marks out of 720, percentile score, All India Rank (AIR), category rank and qualifying status.
Revised Tie-Breaking Policy
According to the NEET UG Information Bulletin 2026, age and computerized draws are no longer considered while resolving ties. Candidates with identical scores are ranked using the following sequence.

Qualifying Scores and Admission Trends
Qualifying NEET UG makes a candidate eligible for counselling but does not guarantee admission. Actual cut-offs depend on factors such as the number of candidates, reservation category, seat availability and counselling outcomes.

Counselling Process
All India Quota (AIQ)
The MCC conducts counselling for the 15% All India Quota, AIIMS, JIPMER, central universities and deemed universities. Eligible candidates from all states can participate irrespective of their domicile.
State Quota
State counselling authorities conduct admissions for the 85% State Quota and, in most states, private medical colleges. Eligibility depends on the domicile, reservation and admission rules notified by the respective state government.
Applicants claiming reservation or domicile benefits should verify the applicable requirements through the latest state counselling prospectus before registration.

Fees, Service Bonds and Other Considerations
Fee structures differ across government, private and deemed medical colleges. In addition to tuition fees, institutions may charge hostel fees, mess charges, caution deposits and other institutional expenses. Applicants are advised to review the official fee notification or prospectus of the concerned institution before accepting a seat.
Several states also prescribe compulsory service bonds for students admitted to government medical colleges. The bond amount, service period and penalty for non-compliance vary across states and institutions and should be verified through the relevant government order or admission prospectus.

Applicants should never disclose application credentials, passwords or OTPs to any person.
