The University of Delhi (DU) is conducting undergraduate admissions for the 2026–27 academic session through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG), based on CUET (UG) 2026 scores. The university also reported that female applicants constituted more than half of the completed applications, with approximately 1,20,509 female candidates and 97,775 male candidates.

Commerce and humanities continue to dominate applicant preferences. BCom (Honours) received 48,336 first-preference applications, making it the most sought-after programme.

Changing College Preferences
This year’s admission data indicates a shift in preference patterns. Since CUET scores are available before preference submission, many applicants appear to be considering previous admission trends and seat availability alongside institutional reputation.
Colleges such as Dayal Singh College, Shri Venkateswara College, Kirori Mal College and Ramjas College have seen increased preference submissions. Meanwhile, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), St. Stephen’s College and Miranda House are no longer among the top five preferred colleges based on submitted preferences. This reflects changing admission strategies rather than changes in institutional standing.
Admission Process After Seat Allocation
Candidates allotted a seat are required to:
- Accept the allotted seat through the CSAS portal.
- Complete document verification.
- Obtain approval from the allotted college.
- Pay the admission fee within the prescribed deadline.
